Garden discovery
On a sunny day, Nuk was digging in the garden when he noticed something bright and orange in the soil.
“What is this?” he wondered, carefully pulling it out.
The Rabbit hopped over and smiled: “That’s a carrot, Nuk! It’s a tasty vegetable that grows under the ground.”
“But why is it orange?”
Nuk asked curiously: “Its leaves are green, but the carrot is bright orange. Why?”
“Because it’s full of beta-carotene,” said the Rabbit. “Think of it like tiny pieces of sunshine — they give carrots their orange color.”
Beta-carotene and vitamin A
“Beta-caro… what?” Nuk giggled.
The Rabbit explained: “When we eat carrots, beta-carotene turns into vitamin A in our bodies. Vitamin A helps us see better, especially at night, and supports healthy growth.”
A colorful plate means strength
Nuk took a small bite. “Mmm, crunchy and sweet!”
“Eating colorful vegetables makes our bodies stronger,” said the Rabbit. “The more colors we eat, the more different vitamins we get.”
Sharing with friends
That evening, Nuk shared the carrots with all his friends. They crunched happily and felt stronger with every bite.
